We have FOUR (4) formal workouts. Each workout is self-select distance and intensity so there is no pressure to be 'an athlete'. In fact, most of our members run for the social aspect. We have lots of beginners and runners of all different levels. All workouts are free with the exception of the Tues High Intensity workout, which is $1.
Thursday evening, 5:30pm, Huish Drive beside the southside swimming pool near the children's playground, bbq tables, and toilets. MAX distance of 6km, but if you want to do 1km that's OK too. Bring your dog to walk, bring your family, bring a work colleague/friend, or just bring yourself. Choose YOUR own distance and YOUR pace. Music, lollies, and lots of fun - a perfect opportunity for newcomers. Some of our more competitive runners use this as a hard hit-out, tempo session.
Other training opportunities:
Tuesday nights, 6pm CQUniversity running track. 45min session, regularly 30-50 people of different fitness levels break into groups for their workouts.
Saturday morning, 5am - Degani's Cafe/Bakery, Glenmore Shopping Village, Farm Street (near IGA). This workout is self-select distance and is a slow, aerobic workout. From 1.5hrs to 3hrs.
Sunday afternoon, 5:30pm. Self-select up to 1hr. Meet at the Frenchville Food Store, corner Kerrigan and Dean Street.
